Health Protection Specialist Learning and Professional Development – The Health Protection Academy

Public Health England is strongly committed to its role as one of the key providers of public health protection training. PHE's specialist training programmes, based on the expertise of our staff, prepare and support individuals and organisations involved in protecting the public from infectious disease, chemical, poison or radiation hazards, and from new and emerging threats, including new strains of disease or bioterrorist attack.

We offer a wide variety of education and training opportunities at local, national, and international level. All the learning and professional development activities, including commercial training, provided by PHE are now housed within the Health Protection Academy. The Academy aims to:

• Tap the recognised expertise in PHE to help train and shape a 21st Century Health Protection workforce
• Bring together in one central hub all the specialist learning and professional development delivered by PHE
• Be open to all who work in public health or have health protection responsibilities
