Chemicals Training Events

The Chemical Hazards and Poisons Division (CHaPD) considers training in chemical incident response and environmental contamination for public health protection a priority. The programme is being developed to offer basic and more detailed training, along with the flexibility to support Local and Regional Services initiatives as requested.

Training events are available to people within the Health Protection Agency and to delegates from partner agencies, such as local authorities, the NHS and emergency services.  CHaPD staff can also provide bespoke chemical incident reponse training to partner agencies on request - please contact your local centre  to discuss requirements.

Teaching

The Chemical Hazards and Poisons Division (CHaPD) has close associations with a number of high calibre universities and a number of the division's staff are members of various faculties within these universities. CHaPD staff undertake regular teaching sessions on a wide variety of courses including Masters in public health, postgraduate and undergraduate environmental health courses, environmental epidemiology, toxicology, and undergraduate medical courses.

If you would like a member of Chemical Hazards and Poisons Division staff to contribute to a course you are running, please contact your local centre.
