The Loggists' training course is an intensive one day course, to be delivered regionally, that will give the delegates a comprehensive understanding of the importance of notes and their evidential value in any post-incident legal proceedings. They will consider and review the content of their notes using objective assessment criteria. Constructive feedback will be given to improve their written skills. The training will give an overview of the potential threats and the role of the main players in an incident through lectures initially, but will aim to be as interactive as possible and will be based on case studies tailored to scrutinise documentation.
By the end of the course the delegates will be able to:
A debriefing session at the end of the course identifies key issues relating to the importance of record keeping. The course is not designed to test the individual participant's abilities within their own profession however; constructive feedback will be given to improve their written skills.
Each delegate receives a Certificate of Attendance on completion of the course.
This course is for those who may be required to carry out note taking during an incident. It may also be beneficial for those fulfilling the role of decision-maker in a major incident.
This course is free to NHS delegates.
