The Strategic Leadership in a Crisis course is a one-day course designed by the Department of Health and the Health Protection Agency for those wishing to gain further insight into developing strategic leadership skills. The course aims to prepare delegates to lead their Trust or PCT through an emergency, whilst supporting a Strategic Co-ordinating Group.
The course opens by looking at local and regional issues, and then focuses on the challenges involved in creating situational awareness, and the recording of strategic decisions. Delegates will be given the opportunity to participate in activities and discussions on strategic leadership issues.
To prepare delegates to lead their Trust or PCT through an emergency, whilst supporting a Strategic Co-ordinating Group.
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
Before attending the course delegates are encouraged to complete a pre-course questionnaire and online e-learning module. These will be made available to delegates via the eHealth online e-learning platform. Further details about this will be sent to delegates once they have registered for the course.
Delegates should be On-call Directors from NHS trusts, primary care trusts and strategic health authorities.
There are a number of Department of Health funded courses being run throughout the year. Places on these courses are free to suitable delegates.
