The Agency provides many opportunities for staff to develop their skills through training and development.
Our aim is to deliver learning to develop a skilled and motivated workforce. We provide training opportunities suited to the developmental needs of staff at all levels. The programmes are regularly reviewed, amended and expanded in the light of feedback and demand.
The Learning and Development team are responsible for providing a wide variety of training and development for all staff in the HPA. Our unique service offers advice, support and guidance concerning training and development and we work in collaboration with individuals, teams and departments to assist in the identification of appropriate learning strategies.
Identification of training needs for all staff results in the provision of both on-site and off-site training courses and the delivery of core training in your own work area. To cater for all training needs we provide practical workshops, face to face training courses, seminar discussions and lectures as well as support for self managed learning.
In addition the HPA Health Protection Conference offers the opportunity to participate in lectures and discussion sessions on topical themes. The event includes scientific posters showcasing work across the HPA and exhibitions of the latest equipment and testing methods.
