Radiation Emergencies

The HPA offers a comprehensive range of scheduled training courses on radiation emergencies and on the National Arrangements for Incidents Involving Radioactivity (NAIR). If you would like to register interest in one of these courses, please contact the Emergency Response Group (e-mail erg@hpa.org.uk).

In addition, customised courses can be specifically designed to the requirements of an organisation and can be provided by the Radiation Protection Division at HPA's Centre for Radiation, Chemical and Environmental Hazards at Chilton or another venue.

• Radiation Emergencies Awareness Course for Press Officers
  A major incident involving radioactivity, whether accidental or deliberate, would attract national and international media attention. This course is designed specifically for press officers working in responding agencies and organisations whose role in a radiation emergency would be critical to the successful management and recovery from a radiation emergency.
