Development made in breakdown of a MenB vaccine component

Impact on Health of Emissions from Landfill Sites

This review encompasses the results of a number of epidemiological studies, detailed monitoring results from a major project funded by the Environment Agency, and advice sought from the Committee on Toxicity of Chemicals in Food, Consumer Products and the Environment. The HPA concludes that there has been no new evidence to change the previous advice that living close to a well-managed landfill site does not pose a significant risk to human health. New HIV Diagnoses statistics

The HIV and AIDS new diagnoses database at the Centre for Infections collects information on new HIV diagnoses, first AIDS diagnoses and deaths in HIV infected individuals.

Infections among injecting drug users

Injecting Drug Users are vulnerable to a diverse range of infectious and communicable diseases. The HPA conducts an unlinked anonymous survey of HIV and Hepatitis in Injecting Drug Users (IDUs) to measure the changing prevalence of infections in this at risk group.

Flooding

Flooding presents a number of risks, drowning being the most obvious. Injury can be caused by falling into flowing water or from hidden dangers under the water. The stress of being flooded can have an impact on mental health.
