The Agency was first alerted to this problem in late July when an adult associated with the nursery was diagnosed with TB. The patient is receiving appropriate treatment and is no longer infectious.

  • Londoners have the highest numbers of sexually transmitted infections in England Release date: 15 July 2008
    New figures released today by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) show that the capital continues to have the highest number of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in England with young people being the most affected. Nationally there has been a 6% increase in the number of STIs with London following the same trend. In 2007 there were 96,223 new STIs diagnosed in London compared to 89,704 in 2006 which is a rise of 7%.
