Research and development applied to our health protection work is a core component of service within the Health Protection Agency. To facilitate this work, a North West R&D group was set up in 2004 with representatives of Regional Epidemiology, local Health Protection Units, the Regional Laboratory, Environmental Health and Health Emergency Planning. Academic colleagues have also joined the group.
The group is currently developing the NW Regional Research & Development Strategy.
