  The likelihood of the presence of any toxic combustion products being formed during fires involving specific materials and under differing combustion conditions such as temperature, ventilation and stage of pyrolysis or combustion was considered.

• HPA CHaPD 003: The Public Health Significance of Asbestos Exposures from Large Scale Fires
  Because of its extensive use large scale fires involving asbestos containing materials (ACM) are a relatively common occurrence in the UK and can cause significant public concern. In addition, the HPA is responsible for ensuring that public health responses to such incidents are appropriate and consistent. It was therefore considered important to investigate the potential public health consequences of such incidents and explore actions that can be taken to minimise their impact.

• HPA CHaPD 002: Review of Chemical Toxicity to the Reproductive System, with Particular Reference to Developmental Toxicity
  The Toxicology Unit of the Chemical Hazards and Poisons Division was tasked to conduct a broad-based review of reproductive and devleopmental toxicology for the Health Protection Agency, and to identify possible areas for future work.

• HPA CHaPD 001: Review of Environmental Chemicals and Neurotoxicity: Focus on Neurological Diseases
  The purpose of this review was to summarise scientific developments int he field of neurotoxicity and evaluate putative environmental exposure to chemicals and the possible association with neurodegenerative diseases.
