Radiation

The Radiation Protection Division has an extensive publications programme with the HPA website being the place of primary publication.

The Radiation Protection Division was formerly the National Radiological Protection Board (NRPB). Many NRPB publications available from the archive continue to be relevant and are also available here.

Consultation documents on radiation topics are available from the Consultations area of the website.

• Documents of the Health Protection Agency: Radiation, Chemical and Environmental Hazards: This series includes the formal advice of the HPA on radiation topics and reports of the Advisory Groups on Ionising and Non-ionising Radiation.
• HPA-RPD Series Reports: This series contains publications of substantial scientific work carried out by the Radiation Protection Division. It replaces the NRPB-W series of reports.

The publications listed here reflect the understanding and evaluation of the scientific evidence as presented and referenced at the time of publication.

Purchases of publications

Postage /packing costs will be charged at the rate of 10% of the value of your order, unless otherwise stated. For overseas orders, postage/packing charges will be decided on a case-by-case basis and customers are advised to email chiltoninformationoffice@hpa.org.uk before placing their order.

Orders for any hard copy publications should preferably be paid for by credit card, although cheques (payable to the Health Protection Agency) are still acceptable. Overseas customers are asked to add an extra charge of £8.00 (or equivalent) to cover our banking and commission charges when paying by cheque in a currency other than pounds sterling. Please either make your payment in your own currency from your own bank, or pay in sterling from a British bank. Please do not make payments in sterling drawn on a non-British bank.
