NRPB-R291 - Doses in Radiation Accidents Investigated by Chromosome Aberration Analysis. XXI: Review of Cases Investigated, 1994-96
During the three years 1994-96, 54 persons suspected of being overexposed to ionising radiation were referred to the National Radiological Protection Board for investigation by cytogenetic analysis. The report contains an appendix in which a brief description is given of the circumstances of each investigation.

NRPB- R298 - Cancer in the Offspring of Radiation Workers: A Record Linkage Study
The objectives of this study were to test the 'Gardner hypothesis' that childhood leukaemia and non-Hodgkin lymphoma can be caused by paternal exposure to ionising radiation before the conception of the child, and more generally, to investigate whether such radiation exposure of either parent is a cause of childhood cancer.

In the event of a future nuclear accident, European Council Food Intervention Levels (CFILs) would be legally binding for foodstuffs marketed in the UK. The NRPB foodchain model FARMLAND has been used to predict activity concentrations in different feedstuffs for accidents occurring at different times of the year.

The National Registry for Radiation Workers (NRRW) is the largest epidemiological study of UK radiation workers. Following the first analysis published in 1992, a second analysis has been conducted based on an enlarged cohort of 124,743 workers, updated dosimetry and personal data for some workers, and a longer period of follow-up.
