Epidemiological Data Glycopeptide-Resistant Enterococci (GRE)

Surveillance of Entrococcus spp. is undertaken by the HPA via voluntary and mandatory surveillance systems. The voluntary surveillance of all Entrococcus species is undertaken in England Wales and Northern Ireland by participating laboratories. Surveillance of clinically significant bacteraemia specifically due to glycopeptide-resistant enterococci (GRE) is undertaken through the mandatory surveillance system in England only.
