Surgical Site Infection - National aggregated data on Surgical Site Infections for hospitals that have participated in Surgical Site Infection Surveillance Service (SSISS) between July 2004 and June 2009. Please note that these benchmarks are now based on inpatient SSIs combined with readmission SSIs to reflect the introduction of post-discharge surveillance from July 2008 in which the reporting of readmission SSIs became a requirement. Historical data on readmissions (pre-July 2008) is included as part of the 5-year national benchmark.
