Strategy and Policy

It is important that the scientific output of the CBRN and Chemical Toxicology Group can be collated, interpreted and applied to optimise existing plans or responses to chemical incidents. Furthermore, it is essential that we conduct literature-based research to ensure that the HPA can provide up-to-date advice and support to Government Departments and Agencies. An additional role of the Strategy and Policy team is to provide analytical tools to help solve complex toxicological problems. Such work can be applied to identifying and prioritising risks prior to an incident or to support decision-making processes during an incident response.
