Human Papillomavirus

We currently do not offer a diagnostic service for HPV infection. Our primary focus is participation in a national HPV surveillance programme to monitor the impact of the HPV vaccine(s) on the UK population. We also have a small Research and Development team examining the immune responses generated to HPV vaccines and issues related to HPV pathogenesis.

Hepatitis C Virus

We are involved in developing and validating novel serological and molecular tests for hepatitis C virus, including tests on oral fluid and dried blood spot samples. These are generally being applied in the context of enhanced surveillance of blood borne virus infections.
