British Institute of Radiology (BIR)
The British Institute of Radiology is an independent multidisciplinary organisation, and a registered charity, whose membership is open to everyone with an interest in radiology and radiation oncology. All our members are equal regardless of profession or grade. We strive to ensure that the potential of imaging science and radiation technology to prevent, detect and combat disease is fully realised. We believe in the importance of research and education, and we promote collaboration and the sharing of knowledge and understanding.

Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM)
The Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine is dedicated to bringing together physical science, engineering and clinical professionals in academia, healthcare services and industry to share knowledge, advance science and technology, inform and educate the public with the purpose of improving the understanding, detection and treatment of disease and the management of patients.

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) - Radiation Protection of Patients (RPOP)
The IAEA works for the safe, secure and peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology. Its key roles contribute to international peace and security, and to the World's Millennium Goals for social, economic and environmental development.

Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)
The MHRA was set up in April 2003 from a merger of the Medicines Control Agency and the Medical Devices Agency. The MHRA is the government agency which is responsible for ensuring that medicines and medical devices work and are acceptably safe.

National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA)
The National Patient Safety Agency leads and contributes to improved, safe patient care by informing, supporting and influencing organisations and people working in the health sector.

Royal College of Radiologists - Clinical Oncology
The college works for the benefit of the sections of the public it serves - patients who use the services delivered by clinical radiologists and clinical oncologists and their carers, families and friends and potential patients within the UK.

Society of Radiographers (SCoR)
The Society of Radiographers represents more than 90 per cent of the diagnostic and therapeutic radiographers in the UK. It is responsible for their professional, educational, public and workplace interests. Founded in 1920, it is one of the oldest and most experienced radiography organisations in the world.

World Health Organization (WHO)
WHO is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system. It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.
