Synopsis

Tuberculosis in the UK is the first UK-wide annual report on tuberculosis. The report presents surveillance data for 2006, which is essential for informing and strengthening tuberculosis prevention and control, examples of activities contributing to control the disease at the frontline, and provides an insight into some of the Health Protection Agency’s current leading edge research and developments in this area.

This report is intended to be an easily accessible summary of the occurrence of tuberculosis in the UK, for the public and professionals alike, and to highlight the challenges ahead.
