Synopsis

Funded by the Commission of the European Communities as part of the programme on preparatory action in the field of Security Research, Contract PASR- SEC4-SA-014100, Project TIARA (Treatment Initiatives After Radiological Accidents).

The TIARA project was initiated as part of the Preparatory Action on Security Research launched by the European Commission in 2004. The Preparatory Action was intended to reach preliminary conclusions on the treatment needs for EU citizens in the event of a radiological accident or incident. The purpose of the TIARA supporting activity was to create a European network to participate in the health management of a crisis after the accidental or malevolent dispersal of radionuclides in the public environment.
