This system reports on a weekly basis although can be switched to daily reporting if required. Covers approximately 40% of the UK population.
- Royal College of General Practitioners Weekly Returns Service (RCGP WRS) - A sentinel GP surveillance system with over 45 years continuous weekly reporting across England and Wales. Considered the gold standard of sentinel GP networks; able to report on total morbidity and to integrate microbiological testing.

Traditionally provides early warning of community based infectious diseases such as influenza and norovirus. - EDSSS (Emergency Department Syndromic Surveillance System) - This is a sentinel emergency department system that monitors the daily numbers of attendances in a network of emergency departments across England.
- GP Out-of-Hours/Unscheduled Care Surveillance System - This is a system that monitors daily out-of-hours\unscheduled primary care activity and therefore complements existing GP surveillance systems by monitoring activity across evenings, overnight, weekends and public holidays.
