Tickborne Encephalitis

Tickborne encephalitis is a viral infection caused by tickborne encephalitis virus. It is transmitted by the bite of an infected tick, or more rarely, from consumption of unpasteurised dairy products from infected animals. TBE virus is not found in the UK, though it occurs widely in Europe and the Far East.
