Dr Leslie Coulton

Leslie Coulton has a BSc in biochemisty (Sussex University) and a PhD in biochemistry (Brunel University). He has worked as a research assistant (1973-76) at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology and as an external postgraduate student (1973-76) at the Department of Biochemistry, Brunel University. He has also held positions at the Department of Human Metabolism and Clinical Biochemistry, the Department of Orthopaedics and the Department of Surgical and Anaesthetic Sciences at the University of Sheffield.

His current position is as a senior research scientist in the Division of Genomic Medicine at the University of Sheffield. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers Working Party on Biological Effects of Low Frequency Electromagnetic Fields (from 1993) and a council member of the European Bioelectromagnetic Association (from 1995). He has represented the UK at meetings of the European Co-Operation in the field of science and technology research (COST project 244) and for the last ten years has been involved in studies of the effects of low frequency electromagnetic fields on cellular systems.
