One of the Agency's key objectives is to develop the intellectual assets of the organisation in partnership with industry and other customers. To achieve this we have a dedicated business support network which is responsible for developing commercial activities across the Agency.

The Agency derives a significant proportion of its income from commercial activities. These include microbiological, chemical and radiological testing, research and development contracts, custom biopharmaceutical manufacture, consultancy and training, as well as products including diagnostic kits and therapeutic medicines.

The Agency has three national Centres as well as teams that provide services at a regional and local level. Our business development team aims to identify and undertake contracts which build the Agency's capabilities or translate our knowledge into practical applications which have a clinical, public health or financial benefit.
