About Communicable Disease and Public Health

Communicable Disease and Public Health was a quarterly journal published by the Health Protection Agency in association with the Scottish Centre for Infection and Environmental Health from 1997 to 2004. The journal aimed to meet the needs of a diverse population of readers who shared concern in the management, prevention, and control of communicable diseases. Its content included original papers, review articles, practice guidelines, and editorials, which represented the microbiological, epidemiological, and clinical aspects of the surveillance and control of communicable diseases. Papers submitted to Communicable Disease and Public Health were submitted to independent peer review and the journal was listed on Medline. It replaced the Communicable Disease Report Review (CDR Review) and the PHLS Microbiology Digest (Digest) in 1998.
