About Health Protection Report
The Health Protection Report (HPR) is the national public health bulletin for England and Wales, and is published weekly on Friday. It superseded CDR Weekly at the beginning of 2007.
Health Protection Report is an open-access journal, ie subscription is FREE. To subscribe, simply email us at <hpr@hpa.org.uk> indicating your preference for either a simple weekly email alert, or one with a PDF file attachment.
HPR is comprised of two strands: a weekly digest of health protection related related news (updated weekly), and surveillance reports, which include infections (routine microbiological and detailed epidemiological data/infection reports), chemicals, radiation, and emergencies. The Infection reports are published on a rotating monthly schedule, and include the following disease categories:
- Enteric
- Respiratory
- Immunisation
- HIV and STIs
- Bacteraemia
- Healthcare Associated Infections
- Emerging Infections/CJD
- Travel Health
- Primary Care
Archive material
The HPR archive will be developed as the publication grows. The full CDR Weekly archive back to 1991 can be found at the CDR Weekly archive page.
Health Protection Report Search engine
The Health Protection Report search engine is powered by Google. It can be accessed in the panel at the top of the page. It is currently directed to the CDR Weekly site while HPR builds its content.
