The primary care section of Health Protection Report is the result of a collaboration between the Royal College of General Practitioners Birmingham Research Unit (which is responsible for the Weekly Returns Service), NHS Direct, Nottingham University Division of Primary Care (which is responsible for QSurveillance®) and the HPA.
The page includes the NHS Direct Symptom Surveillance Bulletin (main trends), the NHS Direct Syndromic Surveillance Appendix A (age-group and region specific trends), the RCGP Communicable and Respiratory Disease Report, and the QSurveillance® bulletin of the HPA/Nottingham University Division of Primary Care Collaborative National Surveillance System. All of these bulletins are updated weekly. With effect from week 30 (2009) a second QSurveillance® appendix (Weekly Bulletin Appendix B) has been published providing further influenza-like illness GP consultation data at Strategic Health Authority level.
