Loggists' Training
The Loggists' training course is a day and half intensive course, to be delivered regionally, that will give the delegates a comprehensive understanding of the importance of notes and their evidential value in any post-incident legal proceedings. They will consider and review the content of their notes using objective assessment criteria. Constructive feedback will be given to improve their written skills. The training will give an overview of the potential threats and the role of the main players in an incident through lectures initially, but will aim to be as interactive as possible and will be based on case studies tailored to scrutinise documentation.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course the delegates will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of blue light agencies involved in major incidents
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of health agencies, government offices of the Regions and local authorities
- Recognise the potential threats that may present
- Explain and evaluate the importance of the legal aspects of records and documents
- Demonstrate an understanding of appropriate recovery methods of note taking through participation in scenario driven exercises
Assessment
A debriefing session at the end of the course identifies key issues relating to the importance of record keeping. The course is not designed to test the individual participant's abilities within their own professionalism however; constructive feedback will be given to improve their written skills.
Each delegate receives a certificate of attendance and is awarded 8 CPD credits by the Faculty of Public Health on completion of both days of the course.
Participants
This course is for those who may be required to carry out note taking during an incident.
