Quality Assurance Training

The CfI Head of Quality has many years experience implementing and maintaining quality systems to meet the requirements of CPA, ISO 17025, assessed by UKAS, ISO 9001:2000 and CE marking on in vitro diagnostic medical devices. He offers advice and guidance on quality related matters to colleagues across all pathology disciplines and has presented widely on a wide range of quality related subjects. One course which has proved to be most popular is on internal quality audit. This is run as a one or two day course at the participants' own site, allowing up to twelve people from across the Trust to be trained at the same time. Participants benefit from sharing ideas with colleagues in their own laboratory environment and gives the added benefit of excellent value for money.

Internal quality audit course

The course is designed to give participants a general understanding of accreditation standards (with particular emphasis on CPA) which they are likely to come across in a pathology laboratory and also an overview of quality systems.  Participants are instructed in all aspects of quality auditing which should allow them to perform internal quality audits and importantly to set up an audit programme in their own laboratory.

Participants are given a comprehensive manual to complement the course.

The course has been approved for CPD by the Royal College of Pathologists and the IBMS.

If you would like us to run an audit course at your place of work, please email Dr Ian Sharp for more details.
