Mandatory Surveillance Weekly Reports

This publication is part of a series of weekly reports on meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bacteraemia and Clostridium difficile infections (CDI) by the Health Protection Agency (HPA).

The new weekly reporting schedule for MRSA bacteraemia and CDI includes counts of cases by hospital (as opposed to acute Trust and PCT-level reporting), and reporting on a weekly basis (in addition to the monthly, quarterly and annual reports that are currently published).

The tables will be published every Wednesday to cover a rolling 12 week period, reflecting data up to and including the preceeding week.

It is important to note, however, that these data are not classified as Official Statistics and hence the data should be interpreted with caution.

 Please note this is an amended report and replaces any other previous versions.

The HPA is committed to continuing to produce data of MRSA bacteraemia and CDI as Official Statistics in our monthly, quarterly and annual publications.
