Louping ill

Louping-ill is a viral infection of the central nervous system, which is acquired from the bite of an infected tick. It primarily affects sheep but can infect many species of domestic animals, and wild animals, including some species of wild birds; it is an important disease of grouse. Louping-ill also occasionally affects people.
