Guidelines for Investigation of Zoonotic Disease

Transmission of zoonotic infections may occur in a number of settings, ranging from indirect contact through food or drinking water to direct occupational exposure on farms, during leisure pursuits or from pets.

This document seeks to clarify the roles and responsibilities of different organisations with respect to zoonotic incidents and outlines how they should best work together in different situations, for example through routine information reporting, formal liaison and outbreak investigations, to ensure a common approach.
