The Health Protection Agency and the National CJD Research and Surveillance Unit have set up a new registry to find out more about the risk from exposures to CJD and other TSEs to healthcare and laboratory workers.
The new registry will provide long term follow up of healthcare and laboratory workers who have reported occupational exposures to CJD and other TSEs.
There is currently little good evidence on the risk of occupational transmission of CJD and other TSEs, and this registry will strengthen the evidence base for national guidelines for healthcare and laboratory workers.
Further information about this occupational registry for CJD/TSE exposures, and leaflets and reporting forms can be downloaded in pdf format below.
