This guidance outlines the evidence and approaches to delivering good infection control and environmental hygiene, as well as C. difficile in the community and death certification.

Chapter 3 has been superseded by Updated guidance on the management and treatment of Clostridioides difficile infection published in June 2013.

Sections on the diagnosis and reporting of Clostridioides difficile infection have been superseded by Updated guidance on the diagnosis and reporting of Clostridiodes difficile, published in March 2012.
